Helicobacter pylori Test Kit is able to detect the presence of urease activity in gastric biopsy.
The American College of Gastroenterologists recommends that patients refrain from taking antibiotics and/or bismuth for 4 weeks prior to the endoscopy procedure. Proton pump inhibitors should also be avoided for 1 – 2 weeks prior to the procedure. These drugs have been shown to reduce urease activity of
H pylori and to reduce the density and number of organisms, thereby increasing the chance of a false negative
H. pylori test result.
This
H. pylori rapid urease test is for use on symptomatic patients by healthcare professionals.
